Nettle Fibre Workshop

About the workshop

Look at these misunderstood plants under a new light with the Nettle Fibre Workshop at Rannoch Mill, where you will learn to convert nettles into a usable fibre. Starting with essential skills like picking and processing the raw nettles (gloves provided!) we will show you how to make simple cordage bracelets. Then we will move onto exploring advanced techniques including retting and extraction of the finer fibres for spinning, as well as the rich history of nettles in fabric creation.
